When the idea to release an EP following up 'Histories' popped into my head, I thought it would be interesting to explore themes that were looking forwards, rather than looking back. 'Histories' ended with a pretty hopeful tone, the solo during 'Last thing on my mind' was supposed to evoke those feelings, in a sense I think Futures was supposed to cement that.
